Hello, Hello!!!!
This week is International Women´s Day (March 8). So I want to dedicate this blog to
highlight the importance of women´s health. Women have specific health needs, which must be addressed in a comprehensive manner and with a gender perspective.
Women´s health covers all aspects of women´s physical, mental and social well-being. It includes reproductive health, sexual health, mental health and general health.
Reproductive health is a fundamental aspect of women´s health. It includes the health of the reproductive organs, such as the uterus, ovaries and breasts. It also includes
sexual reproductive health, such as family planning, prevention of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
Sexual health is another important aspect of women´s health. It includes the right of
women to enjoy a safe, pleasurable and satisfying sex life. It also includes the right of
women to make an informed decision about their sexuality.
Mental health is also an essential component of women´s health. We women are more
likely to suffer from mental health problems than men. Some of the most common
mental health problems in women are depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and eating
disorders.
There are important biological factors, as we have different levels of hormones that can
affect mood and behavior. For example, hormonal changes that occur during the
menstrual cycle, pregnancy and menopause can increase the risk of mental health
problems.
There are also social and cultural factors: Women tend to have more responsibilities at
home and in caring for others, which can increase stress and the risk of mental health
problems.
General health is also important for us women because we are at higher risk for some
chronic diseases, such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes, many of which are
caused by stress.
We are different from men in every way, so here are some tips to keep our health in
optimal conditions:
1. Take care of yourself physically and mentally: A balanced diet, regular exercise and
sufficient rest are essential for your physical and mental health.
2. Have regular medical check-ups: This will help you detect any health problems early,
when it is easier to treat them. 3. Protect your reproductive health: Use safe and
effective contraceptive methods to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually
transmitted infections.
4. Take care of your sexual health: If you have problems enjoying your sex life, talk to
your partner or a sexual health professional
5. Manage stress: Stress is a major risk factor for many health problems, including
mental health. Learn to manage stress in healthy ways, such as through relaxation,
meditation or exercise.
6. Build positive social relationships: Positive social relationships are important for your
physical and mental health.
Therefore, women´s health is multifaceted and requires specialized attention and
awareness of the unique differences women face throughout their lives.
To celebrate International Women´s Day is also to recognize and commit to the
continuous improvement of women´s health and well-being in all its dimensions. By
taking care of our physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health, we not only improve
our quality of life, but also affirm our right to live a full and healthy life.
Remember to always decide for your health!
Bye, Bye.
